This laser is one of the biggest steps forward in skin resurfacing treatments in over 30 years. The Co2 fractional is an integrated scanner that allows thousands of tiny areas to be treated within only one square cm. This allows the practitioner to determine the 'ablation' depending on each individuals needs.

How does it work?

The Co2 fractional laser beam is fractionated into thousands of tiny shafts of light and these tiny shafts penetrate into the deep layers of skin. This pushes damaged old skin to the surface and replaces it with new healthy skin, leaving you with a fresh complexion. It also promotes the growth of new collagen cells, this increases the skins volume and gives you an overall younger appearance.

This is one of the best non surgical anti-ageing treatments available on the market, and can treat all the ageing effects of the sun and daily living:

  • Fine lines or wrinkles

  • Scars from acne or chickenpox

  • Aged or sun-damaged skin

  • Birthmarks

  • Enlarged oil glands on the nose

  • Brown spots

How long does the CO2 fractional laser last?

The length of the results can differ from one patient to another, depending on multiple factors such as; including age, genetics, skin elasticity, and degree of sun damage. However you can maintain the desired effect by protecting your skin from the sun and following your recommended skin care regimen. With daily sun protection the results can last for years.

How soon will I see results?

The Co2 fractional laser can be adjusted to suit each individuals needs. Patients with more advanced ageing skin and sun damage will need a deeper treatment, resulting in longer downtime. However clients with less ageing of the skin and sun damage can have a more conservative treatment resulting in less downtime and quicker healing. Although you can see improvement in the texture and tone of the skin within the first week, it will take approximately 3 months for the final results to be apparent.

What can I expect?

As the laser resurfacing first wounds the skin and destroys ‘fractions’ of the top layers, you can expect your skin to take 3-7 days to heal and then stay slightly pinkish for 1-2 weeks. On the 2-3 day of the downtime you can expect mild to moderate redness, light crusting/ bronzing of the skin, very similar to sunburn. After a couple of weeks you will see the difference in your skins texture, fewer lines and more radiant skin. But this all depends on treatment plan customised to each individual client.
